Sony’s Cyber-shot DSC-W370 is a solid point-and-shoot camera with a myriad of features which give the decently-priced camera that includes a 7X optical zoom lens, a 3-inch screen and 720p HD video recording.

Since the lens is big (34 mm to 238 mm), the DSC-W370 is relatively on the large side for a point-and-shoot camera, weighing 6.3 ounces when loaded up with a battery and memory card. And at 4 by 2.25 by 1.06 inches, it definitely can’t fit in your pocket.

But the cosmetics aren’t what make this camera valued, the quality and features which it boasts do however. The image quality is great, with surprisingly little grain in even the highest ISO setting, colors look true and pictures taken in macro mode were very clear. The DSC-W370 features a self-portrait timer, which is particularly useful for those who likes taking pictures for their blogs, such as MySpace or Facebook. The camera’s face-detection technology detects your face in the scene and then starts the time on its own and begins to take pictures at its discretion. You’ll also find modes for double-portrait (in which two or more faces trigger the camera’s timer) and a Smile mode, which snaps a picture automatically when someone in front of camera is smiling (sounds gimmicky but works extremely well), and you can adjust the sensitivity of that mode in the settings.
