If you own a blog you will need to deal with its files transfer. In order you want to change the files location there is no need to reinstall your blog. All you should do is just locate your WordPress files from one lace to another. It will appear to be easy as ABC if you will follow the steps which are described below:

1.

If you want to move your blog files and change the URL you need to accomplish the following:
- create a new directory if its necessary
- do the back up of all index.php files as well as any other documents which are important in case you want to move WordPress to the root directory.

2.

You need to log in to your blog administration panel and go the general settings section. In the general panel you will be able to create a new folder where the core files will be transferred. Then you should match your weblog address location to the one you have created. After some time the core files will be moved from old directories to the new ones. Don’t forget to update the permalinks as well.

3.

If you noticed that some of the images are lost don’t worry as you can easily restore them. You need to open the SQL database and change the path of the missing image. If you don’t want your any new uploads to appear in the new directories you should change the “store uploads folder” settings as well. You can do it by switching to the following panel – Administration/Settings/Miscellaneous.

After you have implemented all the changes you need to test your blog and find out what may be wrong, then correct your mistakes if necessary. If everything is ok you may proceed to working with your blog. This is how easy it is!
