Microsoft has released the Consumer Preview of its Windows 8 Operating System yesterday. Microsoft Windows 8 Consumer Preview is available for download now and you can install it and preview Windows 8. It is already known that Microsoft has first released the Windows 8 preview with the Windows Developer Preview at the BuildWindows Conference.

Windows 8 is built on Microsoft’s all new Metro UI (the same UI on which Windows Phone 7.5 OS is based). With the new Windows 8 you can access all your settings, downloaded apps etc. on any system through your SkyDrive account which means that you are virtually carrying your personalized Windows with you anywhere anytime.

The minimum system requirements for Windows 8 Consumer Preview are:

• 1 GHz processor
• 1 GB RAM for 32-bit & 2 GB RAM for 64-bit
• 16 GB free space for 32-bit & 20 GB for 64-bit
• DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
