From red-hot sports cars, to crazy concepts and family runarounds, the motoring industry is showcasing its new models in Geneva this week.
One of the first to catch the eye at the Geneva Motor Show was the scarlet Lamborghini Aventador J concept, based on its standard Aventador .
With the Italian luxury car maker billing it as “the most extreme and uncompromising sportscar of its entire history”, they clearly think it is something special.
Under the bonnet it is much the same as the Aventador, with its 6.5litre V12 petrol engine, but its bodywork is totally different. Who needs a windscreen or roof anyway?
Certainly not to keep the sound of your music in – there is no radio or satnav, so you can be fully focused on the “extreme driving experience”.
If you reckon this racy red number is up your street you will be out of luck as it has already been sold for 2.1million Euros (before VAT).
And do not expect to see it in showrooms as the concept is tipped to influence future high-performance Aventadors and an open-top Spyder rather than go into production itself.
While the Lamborghini is a lust object, other more practical motors are also on display.

Other models due to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show include Audi’s new A3, Mercedes-Benz’s refreshed A-Class, the Peugeot 208 and the Volvo V40.
