Erstwhile envoy to US, Husain Haqqani has finally taken off for Abu Dhabi, Geo News reported.

Earlier, haqqani arrived at the airport after Supreme Court lifted travel restrictions imposed on a former diplomat, in a fresh sign that a probe into a major scandal threatening the president is running out of steam.

Haqqani did not talk to media at the airport.
