The Government of Australia made Moosa Feroz as its math ambassador on Thursday. He got 1st position in an online World Mathematics Competition held in Australia. Moosa is 13 year old student living in Mandi Bahauddin, Punjab. He made this position among 1.4 million students across the world. He became disappointed of federal and Punjab government of Pakistan as he said he was expecting a warm welcome from the government. “I feel really sad as I was expecting the prime minister or Punjab chief minister to encourage me on this achievement for Pakistan. It seems that they do not have time to motivate emerging talent in the country.”
Australian government awarded him gold medal on his great achievement. He got first position and obtained 4405 points while another Pakistani student Hasnain was on second position with 4303 points in 11-13 years old age group. Another Pakistani student, Osama got second spot with 3318 points in the 14-18 years old age group.
Moosa said that since 2009 he has been trying to win world math competition and has clinched 5th position in 2011 competition. Moosa’s father Dr. Khaliq Dad Tarar happily said, “I am proud of my son who has made Pakistan’s name across the world with his untiring efforts and hard work”.
